QuantERA ToDiQT

Towards Device-independent Quantum Technologies

The QuantERA ToDiQT consortium develops the theoretical foundations and practical protocols that will enable a new generation of quantum technologies whose security and performance are guaranteed by the laws of quantum physics — independently of the devices used.

Device-Independent Quantum Technologies

Device-independent (DI) approaches to quantum information processing provide security and performance guarantees that rely only on observed measurement statistics and the laws of quantum mechanics — not on trusting the inner workings of the devices. Our consortium pushes the frontiers of DI quantum key distribution, randomness generation, self-testing, and network protocols.

Research Topics

DI Quantum Cryptography

Quantum key distribution and randomness amplification with security independent of device imperfections.

Quantum Networks

Certifying and exploiting quantum correlations across multi-party networks.

Self-Testing

Characterising quantum states and measurements from correlations alone.

Quantum Nonlocality

Fundamental and applied aspects of Bell inequalities and nonlocal correlations.
